Part of the concept actually involved the use of solar panels on the top of the central structure to power the Watree, rather than using outside sources (for opening/closing and possibly pumping). Those images however cannot be seen here so I understand your query.

The water ’pumps’ required actually would not require so much power, the system to be used is a sub-surface drip system (http://www.kisss.com.au) which is extremely efficient.

Just as a side note, the design is intended for sports grounds, ovals, pitches, tennis courts, etc but play grounds would also be a worthwhile area for watering.
