Hey Anupam,

Thanks for noticing this cool house design. Completely agree that a solar water heater would be environmentally preferable. Talking with Ron Richert who designed the house on this, we just wanted to point out that a remote island home like this poses a challenge in serviceability of a solar water heater, aka local technicians do not abound! Alas- so design choices sometimes must face these practical realities for something so fundamental as providing hot water to homeowners living on remote islands such as Chub Cay.
